KTM 790 DukeWow! Been drooling over the new KTM 790 Duke. KTM continues to amaze with new offerings and the latest Duke is indeed amazing. 800cc verticle twin but designed to sound and deliver it's power like a V-twin due to it's 285 degree crankshaft. This puts the crankshaft journals at 75 degrees apart, compared to the standard 180 degree XSR900 or 790 Duke Looking to move to a newer bike, currently on a 990 Supermoto and really like it but finding it a little rough around the edges with a slightly snatchy throttle and backlash in the chain/cush rubbers that make off/on throttle riding rather tedious. Here’s the thing. I’m looking for a new motorcycle for next year (currently own a Yamaha MT 07 worth say 5k euros) and I’ve narrowed down my choice of upgrade to the SDR or 790 Duke. Now as a poor uni student I find myself making the less hurtful decision and going with the 790. Things I worry about is reliability and maintenance on the duke. I have had a few exotic bikes too. That began with a 250 Ducati single, street bike turned dirt bike. Then a 71 Norton Commando. Others were KTM 1190 Adventure, Aprilia Dorsoduro 750, and now my 790 Duke. So far the most miles I have put on an "exotic" is my Duke. I have owned it for a bit more than one year and have just north of 9000 miles on it. Heaven is Japanese bikes. Reliable but a bit predictable and boring. The outer edges of hell belong to the bigger volume European bikes. Some reliability issues but exciting and a bit naughty (BMW and KTM). A special corner of hell is reserved for exotic European owners (MV, Ducati etc). You get the full workshop experience on a regular basis. True. However the op is in the US it looks like. Factory warranty is one year. I was under the impression KTM doesn't do extended warranties in the US and they were only available from the aftermarket. Perhaps the dealership threw in an extra year, in which case its them rather than KTM that would be on the hook. Power comes courtesy of the same 799cc double over head cam parallel twin motor first introduced in the KTM 790 Duke in 2018 but with but a bit snatchy and has reliability issues. Ride quality Common issues on Duke 390s: Randomly dies (probably fuel injector mapping issues). Can get super annoying. Mine did this on a downshift, but randomly resolved itself after 500 miles. Condensation in the dash. Overall not that great build quality/consistency. Oil gets dark rather quick after a change. Dịch Vụ Hỗ Trợ Vay Tiền Nhanh 1s.
